“It’s always been very hard to me to talk about my music… it’s absolutely the music that i feel inside… it’s absolutely research, i’m very intrested in the avantguarde”. Francesco Marcocci (Washington DC 1984) began to study the Bass in Italy, where he frequented the Boccherini Conservatory of Lucca and the Bonamici School of Modern Music in Pisa. From 2001 he performed in Jazz Clubs and Festivals in and outside Italy. He opened the Umbria Winter Jazz Festival 2004, he performed in Barga Jazz 2005 and in the Semaine Italien de Montreal (August 2006). He won a Schoolarship in 2004 to attend the Berklee College of Music. He moved to Boston in January 2005 where he is currently living. In this enviroment he had the opportunity to study with great Musician: John Lockwood, Bruce Gertz, Gorge Garzone, Dave Santoro, Jeff  Galindo, Berrei Nettles, etc.
He frequently takes part in the Masterclasses of some of the Jazz masters such as Ron Carter and the Dave Holland class about Composistion and the Bass, among others. Francesco usually performs  in jam sessions around the city and in other Jazz Clubs. He leads his own Band, Pippi Sextet, that performs around Boston. He plays in many bands such as OBM Jazz Quintet, Beantown Swing Orchesta and others.
